About Us

The journey so far...

Bell Tents & Events Henlow initially started as an instagram and blog post when I bought my first bell tent in 2018.  I invested in a bell tent as it was a tent that I could erect single-handedly.  From my first night sleeping in the bell, I instantly fell in love with the spacious interior and wonderful aesthetic shape of the roof, both from the inside and out.  


Over the next 2 years I received many compliments and enquiries from friends and fellow campers about whether my tent was available to hire.  As my obsession with bell tents grew, I added more tents to my collection and now have two 5 metre bell tents and a 5m Lotus Belle.  From there, I decided to share my love of bell tent camping and began local hire so others could indulge in the luxurious glamping experience, without the hard work of setting everything.

Decorations & Picnics

I love nothing more than dressing the Bells with bunting, fairy lights, fur rugs, throws and lanterns, not to mention the chandelier hanging from the centre pole (battery operated and remote controlled), which creates a truly romantic ambience come sundown.


Please see photo gallery for photos of our various set ups. We can set up for a romantic couples stay with kingsize raised inflatable mattress, or up to 6 air mattresses for a sumptuous sleepover with friends.  


One of my favourite set ups is for an afternoon tea gathering. We provide a gorgeous tent and decorations and you provide the food and tea! Our bells can be decorated with tables for food and low picnic tables with floor cushions for seating.  


We also do a luxury picnic set ups with low picnic tables and lace teepee, plus lanterns, floral garlands, floor cushions etc for indoor or outdoor setting for all year round entertaining.


We can also provide balloon arches and backdrops personalised to your colour scheme and event.  We currently have two beautiful glitter backdrops in rose gold and white iridescent, plus a white petal flower backdrop, these can be teamed with artificial flowers or colour coordinated balloon arches to create a beautiful backdrop and photo opportunity.

All decorations are subject to availability and booking. If you have a specific decorative request, please let us know so we can reserve it for you.

Bell Tent Set Up Requirements

All tents require a relatively large flat grassy area - the traditional bell tents require an approximately 7 metres circular diameter area, to allow for guy ropes.  The Lotus Bell requires approximately 7.5 metres circular diameter.  Unfortunately decking, patios and astroturf are not suitable due to being unable to fix the tent pegs in to the ground.  If you are unsure if your garden is suitable, please contact us and we can always arrange a visit to check before booking.  


Direct access to the garden is preferred, but if not, please let us know, especially if it will need to be carried through the house so we can arrange to bring a trolley to move the tent from car to garden as they are very heavy and sometimes will require 2 people if equipment has to be carried up stairs or along a road from parking points and may incur an additional charge. 


Set up takes anything from 2 1/2 - 3 hours depending on decorating requirements.


A non refundable deposit of £50 is payable at booking, with the outstanding balance due 7 days before set up.


A damages deposit of £100 is due on day of set up.  This will be returned within 48 hours of collection of event equipment. If any damage to equipment is found, an invoice will be sent and monies returned minus invoice amount.


Bell Tent hire takes place between April and September. During the winter months beds can still be set up inside with up to 2 lace teepees, plus decorations, as well as our indoor picnics.
